Core Coaching Principles
THESE PRINCIPLES ARE AT THE CORE OF WHAT GOOD FOOD GOOD FORM COACHING STANDS FOR + HOW WE WORK TOGETHER.
Practice Being Perfection-Proof
This is a big one. Here, we focus on progress > perfection and how to manage perfectionism, thoughts, feelings, and other intrusive elements to make behaviour change long lasting and worthwhile. You may not even realize it’s there until we start talking about it.
Client-Centred + Values Based Coaching
My story might have led me here, but this isn’t about me. Collaborating with my clients and leaning into their values and goals are what will lead us to lifestyle change. Together we’ll work on the habits and practices from their existing point and find the practices they are ready, willing and able to do, building a manageable foundation for the next step in their health and wellness lifestyle.
Freedom of Choice + Developing Mindfulness.
That overwhelming, out of control feeling gets the boot. Coaching clients to understand that they really are in control, and they can feel confident about their choices. Mindfulness and awareness is a key skill to develop that encourages them to celebrate the feel good moments and the wins along the way, not matter how small or silly they may seem in the moment. They add up to big, sustainable changes.
Deep Health
We consider how a habit or practice within the domains of health (nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, change) affects each lifestyle dimension of a person and how it affects them as whole person, and help them become more aware while meeting them where they are at to help them with how they think, feel, live, and connect to others in addition to their actual health.
